On the hunt! Great blue herons can often be found wading through the tidepools at our Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. Using their long legs to navigate the rocks and pools, they look for one of their favorite foods: fish. Come see for yourself: https://t.co/zHZNChhPVX

Can anyone help us identify this absolute legend? BLM employee Kyle saw her rafting the white water at Rainie Falls earlier this month. According to Kyle, "She put it all on the table and left nothing behind." We'd love to send her these photos!

On this day in 1988, the Omnibus Oregon Wild and Scenic Rivers Act became law, protecting dozens of Oregon rivers! Some of the rivers are well-known waterways, like the Crooked, Deschutes, and John Day. Today, we're proud to manage over 1,000 miles of wild and scenic rivers!

Have you ever seen a sea star eating? This star feasted on a mossy chiton at the Yaquina Head tidepools. Stars eat by pushing their stomachs out of their mouths to surround their prey. If you look close, you can see its tube feet pulling the chiton apart!
