NFL disciplinary process is wild.
-NFL plays prosecutor & presents their case
-NFLPA plays the defense & presents their case
-if they can’t settle, then an independent arbitrator makes an unbiased independent decision
THEN I JUST DO WHATEVER I WANT
@BIGPLAY_Dave
When a female judge describes a player as "predatory" based on the evidence she reviewed, anything but appealing the 6-game ban would have been seen as the NFL being weak (again) when it comes to assault on women, sexual or otherwise. The NFL did the right thing.
@BIGPLAY_Dave
What if (and no one’s mentioned this yet) the appeal is so that the league can extract a monetary fine more so than the suspension aspect of it?
@BIGPLAY_Dave
Tbh, this should be his job to decide the disciplinary actions for the NFL. He is paid by the owners to run the league in a way to benefit them financially, and public image is a huge part of the financial equation.
Fair or not, don't put urself in a position this is an issue.
@BIGPLAY_Dave
Then the NFLPA needs to make this a priority in the next CBA. The league, commissioner, and owner still have the leverage when it comes to “conduct” and punishment. If that’s something that makes players happy nhappy, they need to fight for it.
@BIGPLAY_Dave
Because this is Damn near job numero uno for the commissioner: hand down punishment to employees that put the image and financial output of the league in jeopardy
