Her heart was stopped for over 20 minutes. She received continuous CPR throughout this time and had four shocks from a defibrillator before her heart began working again. She now has an implanted defibrillator in her chest to help protect her from any future cardiac arrests.

Three years ago today, my then twelve-year-old daughter suffered a cardiac arrest in our back garden. Thanks to outstanding treatment by clinicians from @NWAmbulance , @NWAirAmbulance , Manchester Children’s Hospital and @AlderHey she has made a full recovery.
