I’ve seen 3 snakes on the road today. None of them seemed to really be determined on what direction they wanted to go.

Been in several fields not sprayed with a fungicide with multiple guys over the last couple days. Southern rust went from concerning to “holy shit” in about 7 days. Gls really accelerated in the upper canopy. Corn isn’t showing milk line yet. Looks good from the road. Not GH corn

Keep saying the 15 year old hybrid is outdated… we will keep growing stupid corn while balling on a budget… . generic fungicide, 160lbs of N, 25k plant pop, 650-750 kernel counts. Almost zero disease pressure. Historically this area of the field is bottom 1/3 production

Beans have turned such a pretty dark green color. Gotta love that view . Be nice if they were worth something… but control what we can

I’ll add 4. Early vt app has the corn much cleaner then late r1 or r2. If there’s anything on the early sprayed stuff it’s a light gls on bottom canopy and maybe one leaf with southern if you really look hard.

I did some pretty extensive scouting yesterday 3 take aways . 1. Tar spot is everywhere, sprayed early, late or not sprayed. Light pressure all over canopy . 2. no real diff between 14oz of quilt and trivapro on tar spot . 3. Trivapro much better on gls and s rust.

12u11 planted April 9th, dropped 29k, 18x38 and 20x33. 170bu aph ground, next week should be good for grain fill, I think it can do 210-220 pretty easily . This farm is usually really close to our whole farm avg. good dirt, share rent with less intensive management

Tar spot in nemaha county, along with some gls, some southern rust out there. Treated a week ago at r2… at Least some damage was done already

We have entered what my brother in law calls “group 4 bean season” 4.2s planted March 27th. 14 main stem flowering points 32 total at r3. Final stand was 130k good solid main stem. Gonna get some smart trio and mirvus top tomorrow, few frog eye spots showing up

Oldy but a goody K01 in Johnson County throwing some impressive ears. 160ish aph ground at 26k. Ears pulled just inside the turnrows. Did 195ish last year on 23” of rain, looks way better this year . Also if the tassels were any more erect it would require a doctor visit

Look at all the pollenation issues 16k01 is having on its 2 and 3rd ears! If it can’t do better then that planted into asphalt millings then there’s obviously no way this crop is a record…

Rolled out with the Ak for a carry weapon today. Been awhile, 7.62x39 has gotten expensive, it’s heavy and I don’t shoot it as well as my 300bo. But…. The cool factor is high 😎
