Months ago I saw a leftist conspiracy theory that Trump wanted to take DC and turn it into a federally controlled district de facto ruled by Peter Thiel and other billionaires. I dismissed it at the time as deranged, but I’m now wondering if there’s a middle truth to that.

@AvdullahYousef I’m not scared of you in particular but death threats in general are scary. And if you look at how many death threats per day people like geert wilders get jsut for standing up for his beliefs, it’s pretty scary. Or death threats for drawing Mohammed. Or death threats for talking.

So it seems all along the critics of Syria’s new gov were just mad that instead of getting a militia government run by impulsive morons, they got a collection of guys whose main concern for Syrians is keeping the lights on and not letting the country splinter apart. Cool.
