@Beth_Tastic @childmatters2me Restraint doesn't just create hypervigilance, leading to more stress related behaviour in the future (and more restraint), it also causes trauma which it can take young people a significant amount of time and support to recovery from. No child deserves that.

@Beth_Tastic @childmatters2me I run a community that supports over 2,000 autistic young people. Some regular meetup attendees have 2:1 or 3:1 support due to "challenging behaviour". We have never restrained anyone because our staff are trained in alternatives such as the low arousal approach.
