Obviously the odds of this have gone up with a 17-game schedule and 7 playoff teams per conference, but even with those factors, four 12-win teams starting the playoffs on the road is surprising and something we may not see for a while.

For the first time in NFL history, we have more than two 12-plus-win teams starting the playoffs on the road. And we have 4 such teams! Houston, Buffalo, SF, and the Rams. Before last year when Minn and Wash did it, there had never been even multiple teams in that situation.
