Historically, the Astros have always emphasized the 2nd half of a season. Usually they will leave major moves for the deadline and try to build out what they have to start a season. If they have a major need now, like starting pitching this year, they will make a low key move

It just seems that a trade for a starting pitcher seems more likely than signing any free agent. Winter Meetings will start big conversations between the Astros and other teams on this topic. Who is a realistic trade Houston could go get at SP?
