Two years in the making, several major critical moments behind us, and many more obstacles to overcome, but we are planting the flag of #hydrogen technology infrastructure in the State of #California at par with the major competing economies globally!
California to build nation's largest $12 billion hydrogen hub. UCI Professors Jack Brouwer and Plamen Atanassov play key roles in its leadership.👍🌏🤘 All about the plan: https://t.co/gXdGxrNIrc

Excited to see our work in the front cover of @J_A_C_S ! Led by our postdoc, Dr. Dmitri Cordova, we found ways to synthetically control and direct the crystallization of quasi-1D van der Waals nanocrystals into optically-active nanowires and nanosheets.
The latest issue of JACS is live! On the cover this week, the authors report the directed crystallization of a model q-1D vdW phase, Sb2S3, into dimensionally resolved nanostructures. @MaxxSolidChem Learn more here ➡️ https://t.co/8b2iXhlYmI

We show here that the flower-shaped #platinum shows stability based on lack of micro-stain = e.a. unicrystaline feature of the particles. We also include a cool video directly taken under TEM that shows nano-tomography of the individual particle - cool!

It was a great and long journey for the #ARCHES team - starting more than 2 years ago and now setting on for the clean #hydrogen demonstrations in #California
Today, in a historic announcement, California has been awarded up to $1.2 billion from the United States Department of Energy (DOE) to build and expand projects focused on clean energy with the ultimate goal of achieving a net-zero carbon economy by 2045.
