Hoyo learned a LOT from Genshin and it really shows in SR. The gacha is (slightly) improved, character models are leagues more expressive, there's proper lip syncing, the environments are more visually detailed... there's a lot to love here.

Multi-Layered Map? We Hear You! Developers Discussion - 06/20
Dear Traveler,
We'd like to share all the optimizations that will be released soon as well as some plans that are already in the works. Let's take a look!
More details:
#GenshinImpact
If anyone is crazy enough to try it...
the thunderstorm around inazuma is gone after you finish Ei's second story quest. you can waverider or Kaeyak/ayaka-yak over to inazuma from liyue now
A lot of people seem to misunderstand what a Gnosis is, what it does, and what its role is, so here's a quick thread on the topic with some thoughts/mythbusting:
>>
what if i told you that every bad guy in genshin is a good guy and the good guys are also good guys and there there are actually no bad guys just people who disagree
You know what would be cool?
If Genshin continued the comic but only for historical stuff. Like how they did with Vanessa.
So they could do a short comic story on Signora's backstory, or the Wandering Troupe in Mondstadt... it would make lore so much more accessible.
... Apparently I missed this whole genshin interview controversy, but lemme weigh in real quick -
1) it's perfectly normal for a company like this to give evasive answers. If they don't, it's taken as a commitment. They'll only answer straight when something is 100%.
No spoilers but can I just say-
Mihoyo has really stepped up their game with this quest. I feel like the amount of unnecessary dialog is a lot less, less use of random NPCs, trippy fun dungeons, a cool event battle mode, and a damn good story.
I am a happy little gremlin.
Who wants a mini theory? (thread)
Of all the four stars, only six have literal story quests: Kaeya, Lisa, Amber, Xingqiu, Razor and Xiangling.
Of those, three are free, and the remaining three have a connection to a god.

do you guys think childe's vision stopped working because he had no faith in the concept of justice as defined by the hydro archon? and in contrast, no new electro visions have been granted because people don't have faith in Ei's version of eternity...?
neuvilette is def a dragon. or related to em.
-missing constellation like zhongli
-slit pupils
-no vision
-references book of job + leviathan
-looks like an otter--
(context: durin and dvalin are names of dwarfs, and so is otr >> (read on)
wanderer's ascension materials are representative of his whole journey.
- a mechanical part from the nation whose disaster resulted in his birth
- sword handguards for his relationship with the raiden gokaden
- mushrooms from the dendro archon that gave him a second chance
i have decided what the end of Genshin should look like:
I want to get to the final region, then look up at the sky and watch the moon crack open like an egg while some eldritch abomination crawls out of it and we have to fight it to the death.
why are starter characters so impossible to get? Been playing since launch and I've never pulled any copies of Kaeya, Lisa OR Amber...
at this rate it'll be 1.5 years before I can finish Kaeya with just star glitter... T^T
Okokok I was editing this stupid video and had a thought. I will continue said thought when it decides to become words but images for the time being.
(genshin impact... thread??? on Khaenri'ah)
in other news, i do feel like genshin finally hit its stride and found a good balance for pacing/writing/length/novelty elements in Fontaine.
they still use way too much exposition here and there and sometimes characters have completely pointless lines, but wow. what a step up.
fun fact for today:
In ancient egypt, only royalty was allowed to eat mushrooms. They also considered it the "food of immortality."
Sumeru's mushroom problems are sus.
you know...
it's weird that we were first introduced to the anemo, geo and electro archons by Barbatos, Morax, and Baal - their demon names - first... while neither Rukkahdevata nor Kusanali have been spoken of that way. 🤔
today i learned...
that inside artifact drops there is a solid colored primogem.
you have to look passed the lighting effects, but they are there....
*squint*
I had this great idea for an actual endgame mode for genshin that would make most players happy. I'm calling it "Endless Labyrinth" based on the Labyrinth Warriors event we had a while back.
Here's how it works:
listen - i'm game for basically all the popular "alhaitham is ___" theories but i still think... he's most terrifying if he's a normal human that developed his own mini-akasha and killed his own sense of empathy in favor of logic.
he'd be so terrifying like that.
if dahri is another term for khaenri'ah...
and is in sumeru
and sumeru is known for mushrooms
and kaeya is from khaenri'ah
and kaeya's special dish is a "chicken and mushroom skewer"
....
sus.
@khoidaooo
i find all the criticisms for this movie incredibly confusing. I'm not a tiny bald windy boy named aang either but I can still enjoy the last airbender. how is this any fucking different?? O_o;
The fact that Enjou can disguise himself flawlessly as an NPC makes me all the more convinced that the Albedo at the end of Shadows Amidst Snowstorms is 100% the real one.
lots of "elio is the cat" theories floating around.
but i think that elio is another entity and the cat is their familiar. it would fit with the stellaron hunters referencing monsters.
kafka = spider
blade = vampire
sam = cyborg
silver wolf = werewolf
elio = witch(black cat)
one day i'll figure out why the guizhong ballista is a wooden crossbow at mt. tienheng but a fancy metal energy blaster during the osial fight and in flashbacks.
The gameplay is really simple but addictive. I can see a lot of directions they can take it which is a great thing, and I think there will be much better difficulty scaling.
>>
Overall the game lends itself WAY BETTER towards a casual experience than Genshin - meaning it feels better to play it on a phone than Genshin does. Genshin feels more like a console game, SR feels like... a switch game. Portable, put it down, whenever.
>>
2) endgame is very vague as a lot of people said. hoyo clearly doesn't want another Abyss and really, I don't either. That would be boring. But I would like more combat-related challenges that are permanent. Most can agree with this, I think, rewards notwithstanding.
OK so FYI, a very important Chinese politician passed away this week, and AFAIK a lot of their media outlets have gone silent as a sign of respect.
So no trailer today. Tomorrow for sure.
*ahem*
Dear Mihoyo...
Why are you so afraid of muscles? Why would you draw characters bulkier in their official art and then suck all the juice out of their official models? Why on god's green earth would you give us Arataki "noodle arms" Itto, and refuse to give Beidou biceps-
The cities also feel almost to scale which is hard to do in a game, but I think the limited zones for exploration really help with this. Since every corner doesn't need to be accessible, they can play with more tricks to simulate scale. The worlds feel big w/o being big.
>>
The casual feel really comes across in the writing. Dialog is shorter, snappier, and a lot wittier than Genshin AND because discovery and exploration aren't really the focus of the main gameplay loop, the lore is more compact and condensed in the quests.
>>
But now is a good time to remind everyone that Genshin is a game and is supposed to be fun. If you're not having fun, it's not a game anymore, it's a chore. Make your grievances known 100% but don't let them consume you. Take care of yourself first. 👁️🧠👁️
What if Dainsleif is the sword that fell into the sea that Kaeya's Grandfather salvaged? What if he's a former elite of Celestia that fell when he disagreed with their method of ruling? Stripped of his powers he falls beneath Teyvat and begins to plot with Khaenri'ah -
Remember that the Archon War was a war of many gods in order to **decide on 7 who would become ARCHONS.** This war was fought **without any gnosis.**
Zhongli threw those massive pillars that created an entire island **without a gnosis.**

Is your fave a short boy with dark hair and a sussy smile? Does he have a cute hat? Is he a little shorts-wearing music man that refuses to elaborate on anything?
Shows up every now and again to drop some lore and vanish for months?
...Your fave is either Venti or Scaramouche.
...the joke here is that after using the knowledge capsule in the archon quest, Al Haitham says our performance increased by .037%... and the traveler actually had their base atk increased by 3... permanently.
what... kind of trolling... mihoyo plz...
Kinda burned out and bored of HSR's worldbuilding and I only wanna make content on stuff I'm actually interested/invested in. I'll still do story arc/lore recaps regardless, but don't expect much in the way of theories. >>
Ei **never even had the Gnosis.** It belonged to her sister, Makoto who, by all accounts, doesn't seem to have power anywhere near Ei's level.
So Ei split Orobashi in half and left behind an electro field so strong it can still kill you hundreds of years later.
>>
OH AND ONE MORE THING -
They're only called "Gnosis" in English. In original CN they're called "Heart of God" or similar.
Just... consider the possibility that the Gnosis might not be the heart of the archon (Venti, Zhongli, etc) but another unspecified god.
Razor is connected to Andrius.
Xiangling is connected to Guoba/Marchosias
Xingqiu seems to be connected to Guhua, and while Guhua was mortal, they were also suspected to have been one of the few to ascend to Celestia just like Venessa.
