UPDATE on COP29 presidency:. After a lot of back and forth, Armenia has confirmed it will no longer block Azerbaijan's bid to Preside over COP29. Azerbaijan now as good as certain to take on the COP29 Presidency.

It stayed in!. The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework - just adopted at #COP15 in Montreal - follows a human rights approach and "acknowledges the human right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment". Full text here:
Just as at #COP27, the #COP15 GBF is likely to recognise the human right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment. Adopted at UNGA earlier this year, this right is fast being mainstreamed across the 3 Rio Conventions - and will offer a powerful tool to pressure govs.

We now have a global deal for nature!. Consisting of 23 global target, and calling for national biodiversity plans for 196 countries - the #COP15 deal is underpinned by the fact we all deeply depend on biodiversity for our own human health and survival.
