I believe the Chiefs rediscovered themselves in the 4th quarter and overtime of that Colts game and you can’t convince me otherwise. They’ve had flip the switch moments in the last. This seems like this season’s version.

This Chiefs season has gone worse than expected in many ways, but one huge positive development has been Kingsley freaking Suamataia. He was unplayable at tackle last year. Had some super shaky preseason moments. But suddenly is an oak at guard. What a turnaround.

A Spags defense is once again tackling its ass off. Some things never change.
The Chiefs defense has recorded a 9.2% missed tackle rate this season the 3rd-lowest in the NFL. With only 318 yards after missed tackles 3rd-fewest in the league. Defenders have converted 81.0% of their first tackle opportunities, ranking 4th-highest among all NFL defenses.

Maybe covering the Chiefs and having to do post-game pods has made me emotionally detached on game day. Maybe being old enough to have survived the 22 year playoff drought brings valuable perspective. They can be frustrating but there’s nothing you can do either. So screw it.

I don’t see the reason to get this stressed. First off, the Chiefs have shown us they almost always figure it out. Earned the benefit of the doubt. And regardless what happens, 3 recent Lombardis in the trophy case + Mahomes is 30 years old on track to age like Brady and Rodgers.

Yup. NFL refs are inconsistent borderline incompetent part-time contractors and the Chiefs have been a great team that plays in prime time constantly. Everyone gets screwed at one time or another. The Chiefs are just on TV more than other teams.

@RealMNchiefsfan I am a Colts fan and I was present at that game. When Hunt fumbled on the 5, Chris Jones took over. He fired up his team, he fired up the entire stadium, he physically manhandled the Colts O-line. The Colts offense lost the battle for the trenches every play after that for the

The Chiefs have this amazing ability to bait good running offenses into abandoning the run while also preventing them from getting explosive passes. The Colts abandoned the run in the second half and Daniel Jones didn’t attempt a pass of over 20 yards all game.

The Chiefs just need to handle their biz in the red zone, and then they’re rolling.

The Chiefs’ comeback victory vs. the Colts was so chaotic that Drue Tranquill probably didn’t get his flowers. Dude had some huge plays in this game, most notably a 3rd down TFL in OT.

Get this man the playbook and get him ready for Dallas. It’s time to bid adieu to the CEH experience.
Sources: The #Chiefs are signing former #Texans RB Dameon Pierce. Pierce had over 1,100 yards as a rookie and also has experience as a returner. The 25-year old will start on the practice squad.

The Chiefs defense held Jonathan Taylor to 58 yards, and a super talented WR trio of Pittman, Pierce and Downs to 63 total yards. They really figured out the Colts offense as the game went along.

BEASTLY catch by Noah Gray. No freaking clue how he kept this ball from hitting the ground. Turned what would’ve been 4th and 8 into a 4th and 3 the Chiefs converted. Allowed KC to take the game to overtime and eventually win. Hope he’s ok!

Late-stage Kareem Hunt getting 25+ rushing attempts is not a sustainable model but dear god what a warrior.

Trey Smith, Rashee Rice and Chris Jones all banged up. This is rough.

It’s like the Chiefs simply forgot Rashee Rice was alive for 6 quarters then suddenly remembered they can funnel the offense through their best weapon.

When the Chiefs utilize Rashee Rice like CeeDee Lamb and not just jumbo Mecole Hardman, good things happen.
