End of the first week back. Credit to our staff and pupils who have made a real effort to adapt to new ways of thinking and doing in school. We’ll continue to work next week to practise, improve and reinforce our new routines and get on with the core business of learning.

Holly McNamara, S6, competed at the Scottish Table Tennis National Finals in Perth at the weekend. She achieved runner-up in both singles and doubles events in the Junior Girls competition class. Well done, Holly!

All pupils, and in particular S4-S6, will continue with normal course work as far as possible tomorrow and Friday.
We were honoured to be visited today by pre-eminent historian Professor Sir Tom Devine who spoke to our senior History class about migration & empire and a range of historical issues. Sir Tom encouraged students to value what history teaches us & to look outwards to the world.

5 pupils represented the school at the Ayrshire Schools Athletics Championships. Our medalists are pictured. Dylan - 1st place in 100m & 200m. Eilidh - 2nd in 300m & 800m. Sam - 2nd place in 1500m. Well done also to Ben D and Gabriella L who were part of the team & competed well.

Practical Cookery student Ross Cowan, S5, entered a Tunnocks competition during lockdown to design a dessert using a Tunnocks Teacake with the theme of “Scotland the Brave”. Out of the whole of Scotland Ross has placed third! Gaun Yersel Ross!
Our first game for the S1/2 team, finishing in a 6-3 victory to Greenwood Academy. Good attitude and 100% effort from both sides which is what matters.
