Many people want to know what an advisor's returns are. That's fair - you want to know if they practice what they preach or if they are just selling you a story. I took the plunge (with my compliance's blessing). My portfolio, my returns, & some explanation. Link 👇.

To all the real estate experts out there. - The landlords.- The Realtors.- The Mortgage Brokers.- and even the current home owners. I think you should budget 2% of the home value as a maintenance cost annually. Agree or disagree? Comment below.

If your corp has $100k of refundable tax sitting with the CRA, that’s lost growth. Every year it sits, you miss compounding. Plan redemptions to clean it up and reinvest. Keep your money working for you - not sitting dead with the government. (Ps ordering better mic soon)

If you’ve ignored your RRSP, your future self is losing money. Corporate investments = annual tax drag. RRSP = tax-deferred compounding. Break-even in 6–10 years. Start now → win later.

Planning is half the battle. A good financial plan is wonderful. However - I want to share some examples of how the investment management can be a worthwhile integrated component of planning. Today: Charitable Contributions and in-kind donations for incorporated clients👇.

Also - non-licensed advisors can't "tell" you which security to buy. That would be "individual investment advice". So you can do the work of finding the right investments, switching between one and the other, etc. Or. appreciate the advisor who executes this well for you ;).

We end with:. $12.20 tax savings just like before.VEQT $110 FMV .XEQT $1000 FMV .Total Invested: $1110 just like before.CDA: $54.55. MORE CDA THAN BEFORE 🤯. Here's the thing - you "could" do this yourself. But that's a lot of work for you. Tracking, recording, etc.

New twist:. What if we invested in something similar like VEQT with the $100 and left XEQT to keep growing and then donated XEQT?. VEQT: $100 ACB with $110 FMV ($100 + 10%).XEQT: $1100 FMV with $500 ACB. $100 donation of XEQT carries an ACB of $45.45. CDA of $54.55 👀.

We start with ACB $600 ($500+$100 new investment) and FMV of $1100. 10% Growth means FMV of $1210 with an ACB of $600. $100 donation has a pro-rata ACB of 49.59. This means CDA of $50.41 that flows out tax free. Result:.$12.20 cash.XEQT $1110 FMV & $550.41 ACB.CDA: $50.41.
