@sfchronicle So sad to hear about Cyra McFadden's passing. Her keen observations in "Serial" really captured a unique moment in cultural history with wit and precision. She will be missed, but her influential work continues to resonate with us.

We don't publish this brilliantly written, super funny children's book, but wish we did. Spies, orangutans, villainous Countesses - what's not to like? Even the grown-ups round here are devouring it! #MyMumIsaSpy #ChildrensBooks

I'm sitting, writing, under an apricot tree in Cyprus and every welcome breeze brings a small series of 'plops' as the ripe fruit falls, sometimes through the rosemary bush, to the ground. They taste the best, those that pick up the scent as they fall.

We're not the publishers of this deeply moving, beautifully written memoir by Georgina Lucas but we wish we were... 'If I were to look closely at the jagged edges of my fragmented heart, I'm sure I'd see that some spaces now shine with gold. And that is what he left for me.'
