Across the South, land grabs for AI data centers are signs of the growing alliance between big tech and racial fascism. What we’re seeing in Memphis has major implications for the entire region. My latest for @scalawagmag:

But also—we should genuinely consider that we might not be able to know for sure what the best alternatives are before we struggle for them. There are questions we don’t know to ask because our political conditions haven’t shown them to us yet. That’s the nature of struggle imo.

Abolition is more than just “what specific institution will replace this one.” Transforming our ideas of justice and safety means fundamentally recalibrating our relationships to each other and how we see ourselves as coherent communities. Policy will never get us there alone.
