I'm finally on Bluesky. So far I mainly see pictures of mushrooms, foxes, owls and astronomy stuff. I consider that a good start but would like to meet some of you there too. 🍄🦊🦉✨.

Rapid evolution is possible & predictable here because of already existing (but rare) adaptive genetic variation. For many species threatened by human activity, such variation is missing. We must protect genetic diversity - & stop altering the environment in the first place. 2/3.

Snails 🐚 are slow, but they can evolve fast! Our new paper shows how one ecotype evolved into another on a tiny island 🏝️ within 30 years - and that we could predict changes at the phenotypic, but also at the genetic 🧬 level. 1/3.#Evolution #Genomics.
