Last week, Year 1 went on an exciting trip to Surrey Docks Farm. They were exposed to different farm animals up closes, as well as the fruits and vegetables grown in a farm. The children were able to enter the 'goat yard' and even got to feed the goats.

Angel Oak Academy enjoyed celebrating its first Cultural Day, where pupils dressed up in clothing that represented their culture. All the children were excited to discuss their different countries and sharing their own experiences.

Angel Oak Academy's football teams had a great day competing in the regional rounds at @DL_Academy. Mr Longstaff and Mr Wilson  were extremely proud of the pupil's performances. They showed great determination, sportsmanship and a great team spirit throughout.

Our summer book fair was another success! Our children bought so many new books that we received £554.98 to spend on the school's book corners. We look forward to some exciting new deliveries.

Year 3 recently visited the Centre for Wildlife Gardening where children explored and learned about different plants and wildlife through observation and collection. They had an amazing time, and it was a unique experience for many of the children.

We are very excited to host this term's @Scholastic book fair featuring a huge range of titles included in the 3 for 2 offer! Join us after school in the main hall from Friday 3rd May - Weds 8th May.

Our spring art exhibition was another success! Thank you to all of the parents who attended and made lovely comments about the children's hard work. Another big thank you to Mr Treen and staff volunteers who took on the huge task of setting up.

Reception took place in practical workshops lead by the National Gallery virtually this week. One class used clay to create a range of characters whilst another used colouring pencils to draw.

Year 5 had a brilliant time attending the Sinfonietta Sounds Out concert at the Royal Festival Hall. The children got to listen to some incredible pieces of specially composed music and even joined in with singing for the world premiere of the song Sweet Tooth.

Year 4 loved their DT unit this term where they had to design, make and then evaluate their own salad.

Thank you to the parents who attended the Family Learning Coffee Morning today. We looking forward to hosting more courses for our parents at Angel Oak Academy.

Thank you to all of the parents and carers who attended the Year 3 Parent Workshop yesterday. The teachers were delighted to have so many visitors to their early morning times tables practice this morning.

We are very excited to introduce our Makaton Ambassadors for this year. These pupils have shown their passion for inclusivity and have been helping their peers to learn and use new signs around the school.

Yesterday, the children loved getting to choose their books as part of World Book Day! Our amazing pop-up bookshop was kindly sponsored by The Word bookshop in New Cross

Yesterday, our Reception children took part in an exciting online workshop with @PuffinBooks for World Book Day. The children listened to a story read by @ed_vere and took part in a draw-along task inspired by the Japanese art form Hirameki.
