WHEN DO THE GUNS START MAKING US SAFER? Texas keeps weakening its gun laws and selling a record number of guns; meanwhile, the state’s gun homicide rate has increased 90% since 2011. Shouldn’t Texas be one of the safest states in the nation? Or at least getting safer?

Do people realize Robb Elementary doubled its spend on school security since 2017? They had a fence. They had surveillance. They had officers on duty. They had shooter drill trainings. ALL OF IT FAILED. The problem is easy access to guns. It's always been guns. ADDRESS THE GUNS

Pediatrician here. I want people to know that death by firearm is not rare in kids. In fact, it has been the #1 cause death in this age group since 2020. In 2020 alone, 4300 children died from firearms. That’s equivalent to one Boeing 747 plane crash every month for 9 months.

No one is asking GOP politicians to all of the sudden develop a conscience in the wake of 19 8-year olds getting murdered. They’re just being asked to support the equivalent of a driver’s exam to buy a weapon of mass destruction.

19 kids are dead today. I used to make the argument that guns aren’t the problem. Years ago I stopped doing that. Because they are. We MUST stop doing what we’ve always done. To all my law-abiding gun owner friends, PLEASE, put down your politics and be a part of the solution. 💔

This is not rare. Guns are the leading cause of death for kids in the US. The shooting in Buffalo was the worst this year for less than two weeks. This is not rare.

How many more lives? How many more children? And how much longer before we reject the choices that have made ours the one country where this happens routinely? It is not inevitable, it is horrific. It must end.

FDA should have moved quickly to include children & pregnant women in vaccine trials. There's a dearth of clinical trial data on these 2 vital groups. But post-marketing surv shows safety for pregnant woman, fetuses, & kids. Going forward clinical trials should be more inclusive

@COVIDOversight @US_FDA What are you doing about it?? Demand answers, but more importantly, demand a sooner review date than June 15. I fully expect @FDACBER @DrWoodcockFDA @DrCaliff_FDA to work 12+ hr days and weekends to review this data. Our kids deserve it. @ImmunizeUnder5s #ImmunizeUnder5s

@COVIDOversight @US_FDA Thank you! We need answers as to why it took two months from Moderna's topline results to schedule this VRBPAC meeting, while Pfizer's got scheduled same day. And both meetings at the same time, contra what @FDACBER promised your committee.

Parents have been waiting many months for vaccines for their young children. They deserve to hear from @US_FDA why this lengthy process has been in children’s best interests. https://t.co/bDLCzQUp2u

@US_FDA You’re going to vote on them together, aren’t you? After you said you wouldn’t wait. After you said you couldn’t tell us a Moderna timeline in April bc their submission was incomplete. After all that, we have a timeline after Pfizer is on the heels of submitting. #ImmunizeUnder5s

@margbrennan please ask @ScottGottliebMD how it works out that @FDACBER has grouped Moderna & Pfizer under 5s together for possible VRBPAC dates in June, when @moderna_tx initiated EUA on 4/28 and @pfizer still hasn’t announced top line data. @FaceTheNation @margbrennan
