The new website is live and issue 0 of the Field Notes has been published. School starts in a week. First semester is all theory but I'll be doing practical application work on my own.

Metacognition is important for creativity. But beware the centipede effect. When the toad asks the centipede which leg moves first, she falls over, unable to walk. Your inner critic is the toad who kills your weird, but promising ideas before they can develop.

I joined @neuranne's community and bought her book, Tiny Experiments, yesterday. I figure if I'm going to do a thesis on metacognition and generative notemaking, go to an expert😁.

Talking with my advisor about including a section in the course I'm creating on using AI responsibly. My take: Students are going to use AI no matter what the professor or university says or wants. Teaching them to use it as a tool rather than a cheating machine is valuable.
