Colman’s was an extraordinary life. Among so many accomplishments, he inspired myself and scores of B-CC classmates ostensibly about pursuing peace, but more so about not accepting excuses for why the world can’t be made a better place - while wearing vegan shoes, no less
Colman McCarthy, who trained as a Trappist monk before embracing a calling as a journalist and teacher, has died at 87. He championed peace and nonviolence in a Post column as well as in classes he taught at high schools, colleges and a juvenile prison.
