Suave, debonair, intelligent, funny, athletic, muscular and incredibly handsome — there are so many things I would like to be. (Social media outfluencer)
Dropped my sister off at Melbourne Airport an hour ago and am now minding her house for a month. She warned me about possums running across the roof. Got home, sat down, and the house started shaking. "They've got bloody big possums in Sunshine", I thought.

fields. To select a team of the best of those is no easy task, but in a move that is sure to provoke heated debate, I have attempted to do so. Did I get it right? You be the judge!
Nothing to worry about at DoggyLand. Lost by 82 points last week and 51 this week. If we keep following that trajectory, we’ll only lose by 20 points next week, beat Sydney by 11 points in round 4, and then go on a winning run that culminates in a 662-point Grand Final victory.
This follows the news earlier in the year that the Cats’ number 45 had signed a contract extension. That means in 2024, for Geelong, it will be Close but no Ceglar.

On average, 99 out of every 100

matches is NOT a draw. I would ask those who don't like the draw to enjoy those 99, and let those of us who DO like a draw enjoy the ones that come along once in every 100 games.

Two years ago. Fortunately I'm in a much better headspace now, thanks to my psychologist, and especially because of the support and love I've received from all my friends, many of whom I met here on Twitter. Thanks, all you lovely people. ❤️
Off to the doc for yet another attempt at straightening out my mangled mind. I used to aspire to brilliance; now I’m happy to aim for “functional and reasonably useful member of society”.
A reminder of what Gillon McLachlan said of

players at the launch of the inaugural season last year: "I will ask today that we give them time and space to grow into the elite footballers that we know they can be. We are here for the long haul — let’s back our players in."
A year ago today. 12 months on I'm in as good a place as I've been mentally for a long time. Great credit goes to my psych Luke Henderson who has helped me understand & love the person I am, and to all of my wonderful friends, online & face to face. You know who you are. Thanks.

After Mum's funeral today, Hawthorn will play the Doggies. Born in Sydney, when Mum arrived in Melbourne, she lived in Hawthorn, adopting the Hawks as her team. But after she & Dad chose St Albans as the place to make home, they became Footscray fans. Go

I've done my ladder projections (thank as always to
@SquiggleAFL
) and it looks like Collingwood will top the ladder this year with the 16th-highest percentage in the league. Giants, Hawks, Tigers stiff to miss out on a top 8 place. Indeed a top 4 place. Even a top 2 place.

That's your loss. Anyone who's watched
#AFLW
regularly since 2017 can do nothing but be impressed by the progress made. If you're making comparisons with a group that's had a 100-year head start, I'd suggest it's your approach to the competition that's wrong.

Don’t get me wrong, but I don’t feel I know the

any better now, than I did a few years ago, there is simply no cut through and that’s due to the poor standards. Unwatchable.
Getting responses to this like "How can you have Team A finishing there?", "No way is Team B winning only two more games" and so on, but apparently none of these responders are shocked by the fact I've got 15 teams finishing on 48 points with an identical percentage.

Who in their right mind scheduled a

game for Thursday night prime-time? I mean I can understand the Suns getting the slot, but Richmond???

We said a sad goodbye to Jumbo tonight. He came to us as a one-year old rescue dog (named Flynn) in 2003 and has given us all much joy for the last 16 years. He will be especially missed by Trigger, his partner in crime for more than a decade. Rest In Peace, Jumbo. xox
After we won the flag in 2016 I swore I'd never again still be angry the day after a loss. It's taken four years, but I was wrong.

65 grams is pretty light for an AFL player. Might want get him to bulk up to at least a kilo before picking him in the seniors,

While I'm sad to see Tom Boyd's
#AFL
career come to a premature end, I'm pretty happy that it's resulted in the following stat:
61 V/AFL CAREER GAMES: T. Boyd (GWS/WB)
61 V/AFL CAREER GAMES: T. Lloyd (Fitz)
61 V/AFL CAREER GAMES: T Floyd (Geel/Coll)

Having lost her life-long partner in crime, Jumbo, two years ago, sadly Trigger’s time to leave this mortal coil came today. She gave us 15 years of laughter, lunacy and love. We’ll miss you, Triggsy. xox
This from Eddie, following this morning's story. It's easy to fall into believing the "It's all in the past" and "Luckily that sort of thing rarely happens these days" narratives, but this shows we have so much still to learn and do.
Some sad news on the day of the

Grand Final. Greg Parke, who played for both clubs, passed away this morning after a long illness. He was 73.
Condolences to Greg's family and friends.

There once was a player named Melican
Who claimed he could shoot like Ned Kelly can
But his kicks went astray
And his teammates did pay
So their angry retort was “Like hell he can!”
Me and my mate Mic are writing a book about players who played only one V/AFL match. There's more than 1100 of them. Each of them has a story. Here's one I've written about Footscray's Archie Whitfield and his Essendon cousin Les.
@thefootyalmanac
There she is in the kitchen, making us another cuppa. "Come and sit down, Mum." She would, for a minute or two. Then it was back to making sure everyone else had enough food, drink and love. She'll be doing that for all in Heaven now. Thanks to everyone for your messages of love.
A significant life event occurs in two weeks when the family home built by Mum and Dad in 1954 passes to new owners. I always said I’d save my bedroom door with these stickers if we ever sold. But should I, really?
UPDATE: My first-ever CT scan has revealed that I do actually have a brain, and that it looks normal (slightly disappointing — I thought I might have a special one). Looks like vertigo is what I have. Thanks for all the good wishes. Feeling a lot better than I was 12 hours ago!
