Re the performances - Lox Pratt is amazing as the lead, with David McKenna & Winston Sawyers bringing excellence to the over high quality cast. They carry the brutality (the pig scene...) which makes the audience believe it is real. Top marks to the all! Cannot fault the acting.

The #LordoftheFlies series brings to life an excellent story, on which I completed a book report at School when I was about 14! Excellent performances, locations, and directing but the script needs more soul. Despite this, the series is compelling and firmly recommended.

Seen enough to conclude #StarTrekStarfleetAcademy isn't #StarTrek. It's too Earth-based, little by way of sci-fi, bar the setting - sci-fi isn't part of it. It could be set on Earth in 2026 and tell the same kind of stories. So, alas, it lacks the elements people watch Trek for!

This is not going away anytime soon. This is bigger than Partygate. It will linger over Labour like a dark cloud, with occasional lightening strikes taking down their authority. It may be best for them to go now before it becomes personally as well as politically destructive.

Plus, it's Star Trek - so far, it's mostly set on Earth.... it needs a ship that flies! This was a problem DS9 had, so they brought in the Defiant. If Academy continues being stuck on Earth, then it'll quickly become stale and repetitive. Anyway, let's wait and see.

#StarTrekStarfleetAcademy needs to tell its own stories! So far it has retold Next Generation's 'Drumhead', and now has retold Deep Space Nine's cliffhanger ending re #Sisko. These kind of eps tend to happen once a series and characters have found their feet. Bit soon!
