Re the performances - Lox Pratt is amazing as the lead, with David McKenna & Winston Sawyers bringing excellence to the over high quality cast. They carry the brutality (the pig scene...) which makes the audience believe it is real. Top marks to the all! Cannot fault the acting.

The #LordoftheFlies series brings to life an excellent story, on which I completed a book report at School when I was about 14! Excellent performances, locations, and directing but the script needs more soul. Despite this, the series is compelling and firmly recommended.

Something tells me #AndrewMountbattenWindsor won't be complaining so much about how small his huge rent-free Royal Lodge property in Sandringham is after spending a few nights in the cells... it can always get much worse for him.

Seen enough to conclude #StarTrekStarfleetAcademy isn't #StarTrek. It's too Earth-based, little by way of sci-fi, bar the setting - sci-fi isn't part of it. It could be set on Earth in 2026 and tell the same kind of stories. So, alas, it lacks the elements people watch Trek for!

Saying 'you've never had it so good' to people when their daily lives are a struggle is the worst kind of patronising that really annoys voters. It makes people angry and wish to lash out, especially after the string of incomprehensible scandals and u-turns. Just go, #Starmer.

GDP is up 0.1%. That's nothing. Energy prices are through the roof. Inflation is 3.4% (up from 3.2% in Nov), and interest rates are 3.75%. The cost of existing is sky high yet @Keir_Starmer is acting like we're in a boom-period! He's either out of touch or in a parallel universe.
Job number one is easing the cost of living pressure that many people still feel. Today’s GDP figures show our economy is growing. That means more money back in your pocket. I know there’s more to do, but we are heading in the right direction.

Labour logic: boys need to watch Adolescence to stop misogyny, but young lads listening to pro-crime, pro-gang sexist rap/drill music doesn't influence them at all.
“Enjoying mafia movies doesn’t make me a killer. So be wary of the state using rap music to prove murder” Shami Chakrabarti is absolutely right - creative expression must be protected from misuse in our justice system. Read her excellent article 👇🏽 https://t.co/NlrQWmxQtf

Born today in 1894. At the Somme, the young Harold Macmillan was shot in the pelvis & left hand & lay in a shell hole for hours waiting for rescue. He passed the time reading Aeschylus’s Prometheus Bound in the original Greek, from a copy he kept in his tunic pocket. A lost world

Didn't they try this in London, and it ended up killing the night-life stone dead?! They basically introduced so many rules, that nothing is open in London after 10pm! You don't cure the disease by killing the patient! Night-life needs longer hours, more venues, cheaper products.
I still love a good night out, says former deputy prime minister @AngelaRayner tells the @ntiaofficial #NTES26 in Liverpool. She wants the government to have a named minister responsible for the night time economy

This may save him until May (there's no clear successor - Rayner would be trading one set of scandals for another). The political mood has shifted, transforming his l/ship into a daily fight of corrosive decline. His Black Weds, his financial crisis, his Partygate have arrived.
Keir Starmer has told Labour MPs he will not "walk away" from No 10 and that he will keep fighting "as long as I have breath left in my body” The PM addressed a packed room of Labour MPs on Monday night in a bid to shore up his leadership after the worst period of his

The advisor going is all well and good, but the decider (#Starmer) is ultimately responsible. As with #Boris and Chris Pincher, the buck stops with the one making the decision.
Morgan McSweeney resigns as Keir Starmer's chief of staff, saying he was responsible for advising UK PM to appoint Lord Mandelson

Bringing in a few stylistic things over from the Yorkshire home to Liverpool! IE - Wilton's carpets, new security system, and some Yorkshire stone! It'll bring over a bit more of home! Also a new library to take the heat off the office...

Not knowing is no excuse - it was front page headline news before @UKLabour returned to office. "JP Morgan report from 2019 found Epstein seemed to keep ‘particularly close relationship’ with Labour peer". @Keir_Starmer

That'll do the trick(!) This is exactly what was needed to ensure @UKLabour wins the next election with a positive vision and track record. Not a waste of time and money at all.
🚨 NEW: Keir Starmer's Director of Communications has commissioned another redesign of the Government's Coat of Arms to make it more "accessible" It follows the last redesign in October 2024 (below) [@max__young]

This is not going away anytime soon. This is bigger than Partygate. It will linger over Labour like a dark cloud, with occasional lightening strikes taking down their authority. It may be best for them to go now before it becomes personally as well as politically destructive.
BREAKING: Sir Keir Starmer, his ministers and advisers will be forced to disclose all their communications with Lord Mandelson - including WhatsApp messages and emails - as part of a mass disclosure of evidence The Conservative party's "humble address" - a parliamentary

Plus, it's Star Trek - so far, it's mostly set on Earth.... it needs a ship that flies! This was a problem DS9 had, so they brought in the Defiant. If Academy continues being stuck on Earth, then it'll quickly become stale and repetitive. Anyway, let's wait and see.

#StarTrekStarfleetAcademy needs to tell its own stories! So far it has retold Next Generation's 'Drumhead', and now has retold Deep Space Nine's cliffhanger ending re #Sisko. These kind of eps tend to happen once a series and characters have found their feet. Bit soon!
