But, as Reform's leads show, in a situation where just 12% say Britain isn't broken, and more people say 'It's time for change' than before the general election, the risks of rolling the dice on a more American future might not seem so great compared to status quo

What is the Conservative Party's economic argument? What is their answer to the UK's structural fiscal challenges? How would they reform the NHS ? They don't know/care. Their only focus is a bidding war with Farage on immigration. There is no reason for them to exist.

Suicide is when someone wants to die. Assisted suicide is when someone helps them. Assisted dying is when someone desperately wants to live, but is dying, & wants the choice to end their life in dignity, before pain becomes unbearable. Morally & emotionally illiterate to conflate

Angela Rayner is finally gone. But it’s only because of Keir Starmer’s weakness that she wasn’t sacked three days ago. Britain deserves better.

More wealth tax nonsense over the last few days. Evidence is pretty irrelevant to someone who thinks 3% of £620bn is £40bn…

There are 156 billionaires in the UK with a total wealth of £620 billion. Redistributing their wealth over £10ml at just 3% would raise almost £40 billion - enough to fully fund the NHS Tax the billionaires.

The government's problems are deep, fundamental & structural. Reshuffling Ministers & No10 team will make no difference whatsoever. The issue isn't who's i/c delivery, or who's i/c communications - it's that there isn't a plan to implement or communicate.

It is really incredible how badly the party has fared as opposition. Trump is wildly unpopular but the Democrats even more so because they have no vision and no agenda.

This - intellectually dishonest, cynical, opportunistic and profoundly unserious - captures why the Conservative Party is in a death spiral.

Back in September, every Labour MP supported a cut to winter fuel. For months they ignored our warnings and ducked our scrutiny. Only now the damage is done, there’s news of a U-turn. For a policy that was never in their manifesto, this has been a botched job start to finish.

Thoughts on White House seizing control of pool coverage: 1. Next step on the slippery slope is to control who has access to video and audio of presidential events. U.S. military records and distributes audio/video feeds now. Trump could break precedent and limit distribution 1/

If you’d asked AI to write a piece of Russian propaganda in the style of Donald Trump, this is what you’d get. Well done America, you’ve elected a Russian asset as your President.

In 2017, Trump inherited a strong economy, low interest rates, and a generally stable international situation. For the next 3 years, Trump enjoyed the dividends from his inheritance - until he crashed into his first real crisis, the COVID pandemic. 1/x

After an FOI dispute lasting 18 months I've finally obtained the official reasons Boris Johnson gave for peerages of Charlotte Owen & Ross Kempsell. The reasons cited for Owen seem thin, inadequate & lacking in evidence, leaving her peerage as a mystery rather than justifying it.
