Just listened to @BBCJustinR’s item on @bbcworldservice about how climate change in Somalia has become a conflict multiplier. Find out how the WPS partnership turn water-related violence into opportunities for water cooperation and peace through dialogue.
WPS’ Yasir Mohamed, Karounga Keita, and Kadiatou Yacouba Keita visited #Mopti and #Djenné in Mali. They joined a dialogue, discussing conflict among herders, farmers, and sand miners. Previous dialogues led to concrete actions, reducing the number of violent conflicts 💧🕊️

Ancient knowledge by local stakeholders is invaluable. Watch this video on how 'Tengs' redirect sand away from settlements during sandstorms in Sistan region of #Iran. Research is reviving these practices. #naturebasedsolutions #NbS #drought
Research on the ‘Tengs’ 🌿 of the Sistan region in Iran has preserved this #naturebasedsolutions for future generations, says Mohammadreza Jehkeh, Master's student at IHE Delft. Tengs make life in the Hamoun #wetlands viable during #droughts. https://t.co/M5MOv4f4fG
