We are very sorry to hear that cinematographer Owen Roizman, ASC has died at the age of 86 following a long illness. Nominated five time for his camerawork, he was presented in 2017 with an honorary Academy Award for his contributions to cinema. We are preparing a full memorial.

At top: Wilmer C. Butler oversees multiple cameras on the set of Jaws (1975). Butler died on the evening of April 5, at the age of 101, just days short of his birthday. Butler is well known for his work on The Conversation (1974), Jaws (1975) and three Rocky sequels.

For the diner scene we were choosing the focal length of our lenses to tap into the scene’s level of intimacy, by starting on a wide lens closer to the actors and then slowly switching to tighter lenses from more of a distance, and the other way around.-- Marcell Rev on Euphoria
