It all started a couple of years ago in a discussion with Mario Mencia.@mariomenciacab.about proton transfer in bacterial membranes vs. archaeal ones. I told him we can give it a go, and we found some interesting, unexpected capability of ether lipids to support proton diffusion.

I have never been so excited about a Preprint @ChemRxiv. An idea started 10 years ago, and experiments started nearly 8 years ago, we finally present the first-ever Donor-Bridge-Acceptor system to initiate and explore proton transfer across biomolecules.

📢 New paper 🥳 Super happy for Ambili for her new paper on using our membrane-tethered photoacid to probe proton transfer dynamics of biological membranes as they transition between phases. Published in @ChemicalScience of the @RoySocChem.#ChemSciVoices.
