@mrsiipa At one point a while back autoregressive language model papers were like that too. Formulating the joint likelihood, factorizing it, deriving the maximum likelihood estimate, discussing connections to Bayesian statistics and Convex Optimization,... Good example here:

This is a terrible business decision. And I say that as a 'peasant'. Lords and peasants system exactly is what drives engagement on Twitter. The value of Twitter checkmark is earned status, not bought one. Also see, LinkedIn checkmarks and why no one cares for them.

Among your new year resolutions, please include one to help Covid impacted families. Offer them jobs, educational, financial, social, psychological support. Governments won't/can't fix it all. Let's step up as society to not leave those families behind and marginalised forever.

@flcnhvy Accept worst case outcome & assign it a probability, which is usually very low. Now think of good things in life & assign them probabilities – many are certain! Bringing anxiety/fear to the conscious mind saps it of limbic emotional strength. Cheery fatalism is very effective.

@haltakov Characterize, characterize, characterize. Measure your accuracy across different subcategories of data distribution. Get a handle on what works/what doesn't. Log intermediate features from your model and finally do dataset rebalancing and model fine-tuning. Easy xD

@fchollet Realizing how badly entire system is stacked against labor is an eye opener. It's almost as if people have to be systematically kept poor to do risky, unpleasant, hard jobs.

@pentagoniac @fchollet I struggled with signal processing and noise reduction algorithms when in college 12 years ago. It was far less challenging when we built Nvidia RTX Voice to eliminate background noise from voice calls. Deep Learning is amazing :-)
