But we cannot move forward as a field if we don’t discuss these cases. They are crucial. So, I created the Black Youth Mental Health Clinical Case Conference series. The first of its kind @YaleCSC 3/?.

Short answer: Usually nothing. There is no safe space to discuss these clinical cases in medicine without the very real fear of retaliation. Institutions might say you’re “calling them out”, the colleagues with the racist behavior may target you. 2/?.

So the next time you see someone researching anti-Black racism, instead of asking them why they need to research it, try learning from them. If you’re a doctor, it’ll make you a better one if you see Black patients 😉 9/9.

Researchers of anti-Black racism are scholars, scientists, and are amazing—often because they’re going through the very racism they’re researching. We need more research about racism. 8/?.
