Sooooo. we're now doing gastric POCUS for ALL GLP-1 agonist pts. And the results are. not pretty. It changes our mgmt frequently. Rather than rely on an arbitrary fasting time, a bedside test has been key. If you're new to this, check out this vid 👇.

Good thread by @DrNavSidhu unpacking the implications of GLP-1 and fasting status. I have to say: just learn #pocus gastric ultrasound. It’s not that difficult to master. And provides definitive answers to help your patient, and you. These guidelines are IMHO too unhelpful.

Since we are talking about coiling wires…I teach everyone the over and under technique. Helps w electrical cords, IV lines, epidural and periph nerve catheters. Prevents kinking and unrolls cleanly @EMARIANOMD .@pritanand @amit_pawa .
