Alief ISD’s Board of Trustees has selected Austin ISD Interim Superintendent Dr. Anthony Mays as the lone finalist to serve as the next superintendent of the District.
All Alief ISD schools and offices will be closed on Monday November, 7, to allow our families to celebrate the historic Houston Astros World Series victory. After school activities are also canceled.
Alief ISD approves higher teacher starting salary, raises for current employees.
The Alief ISD Board of Trustees approved a 4% of the midpoint raise for all eligible employees. The starting teacher salary for Alief ISD will be $59,700 for the 2021-2022 school year.
Due to forecast of inclement weather, Alief ISD will be closed for all staff and students tomorrow January 16. Our students’ and staff’s safety is our highest priority. Please check the Alief ISD website, Twitter or Facebook for an update as we evaluate the forecast tomorrow
Beginning March 23, any children age 18 and younger will be able to pick up breakfast and lunch from select campuses from 9-11a.m.

Alief ISD Board of Trustees approved a 6% of the midpoint raise for all eligible employees. Teachers with 1-5 years’ experience will receive a 6.83% of the midpoint raise & those teachers with 6 years or more experience will receive an 8.49% of the midpoint raise.

Today during dismissal a Hastings HS student was struck by a car driven by an AISD employee on High Star. The student sustained critical injuries. Vehicular assault charges were brought by Harris Co DA. We ask for your thoughts & prayers for the student’s recovery.
Alief ISD Superintendent HD Chambers has announced that Alief ISD will extend the suspension of normal district operations through Friday, April 10th in an effort to support the nation’s need to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Greg Abbott issued the statewide mask mandate & goes into effect 3/10/21. Although we are expecting further guidance from TEA, for the safety & security of AISD staff, students & community, the district’s safety protocols & procedures will continue until further notice.
Uvalde ISD has been heavy on everyone’s hearts. Their students/staff will return to school on Tuesday, September 6. In support, Alief ISD will join districts throughout Texas by wearing maroon & white to Stand with Uvalde as they return to school on September 6.
