@PetGelsinger I don't buy rumor I think it's more likely we see forced orders. And Intel gives a stake in exchange for rest of chips $ That's $5B (probably what Lip-Bu wanted with WS raise) Intel gives up maybe 10% of all of Intel. And Intel Foundry gets Az full and Ohio orders

Substrate aims to take out TSMC and ASML as 1 firm. Huge huge ambitions, but the starting point isn't 0. They have demonstrated some pretty incredible results with their tool but there's a ton of open questions as well. Read our dive into it below

Confidence up a bit due to some of the news in this piece, hasn't been publicly shared. It's pretty simple, if the tool works, Intel will take them out in all stock purchase. Pick your number, doesn't matter the valuation if Intel tests the tool in the fab and gets good results

Zuck going all in with that CAPEX guide Repeat of VR. Investors probably gonna hate it But that's the benefit of being founder led lol Intel potentially cutting an ASIC deal with them looks super attractive compared to some of Hyper Scalers

Nvidia might spend a few billion doing a redesign in ~9 months for 50 billion a year in revenue. It's all upside for them Nvidia already claimed they could switch foundrys easily if something happened to Taiwan last year

I still believe a fair trade for allowing top end AI chips to China is to force them to be made at Intel. Process node doesn't matte, comp is SMIC This is a massive rev opportunity and It would strengthen domestic production. No upside to juice TSMC earnings with these
The China-specific AI chip that's reportedly on the table is being marketed as "50% worse" than our best AI chips. In reality, pound-for-pound, it's our best AI chip.

@SemiAnalysis_ Guy is claiming they have a production volume capable tool Shouldn't be that hard for Intel to send down a Litho team. Checkout the tool. Guessing they used Livermore accelerator. That would fit in Fab 62. If it works, Intel should just buy company lol https://t.co/tUEewI1km2

@substrate Fascinating read of ingenuity with little support for years until the market caught up Such a tragedy we allowed Cymer to be sold

Just to point out to many, Cymer. The company that actually invented light source used by ASML (drop tin shoot a laser) and DUV Started by 2 guys from San Diego who worked 'Star Wars'. With no actual money for years. So yes @substrate tool might be real https://t.co/navqKrtmDl

"Mr. Proud said he had also held preliminary discussions with Intel, the veteran Silicon Valley chipmaker, about its technology." Long way to go. Guy sounds very ambitious. Best of luck to him. America certainly needs FEL's as a competitive advantage
Sounds like Substrate is also a FEL litho startup Very much like xLight Who is actually winning or ahead idk. But it's great for America. FEL lasers would be super export controled (used for other military stuff) They also wanna be a chip fab. Little laughable

A secretive American startup says it has chipmaking technology to rival ASML and take on TSMC. Bloomberg’s @EdLudlow breaks the story on Substrate's particle accelerator-powered lithography machine and plans for an American foundry https://t.co/IP6vL4DLDF
