I’m so sorry to hear that bradgobright just died in a climbing accident. He was such a warm, kind soul - one of a handful of partners that I always loved spending a day with. I suppose there’s something to be said…

Repost from Sanni.. ⁣ “June J Honnold, was born at 10:30pm on Thursday, February 17th ♥️ Things started well but after a long labor she was getting distressed so I went into an unplanned c section. June was not breathing when she came out and she barely had a heartbeat.

Big update from Yosemite season: baby June has learned how to say “El Cap.” And cutely, she occasionally waves and says, “hello, El Cap.” Photo from the old 120 trail above the woodyard. Controlled burns creating the layer of smoke in the Valley floor.

A few pics from a trip up the North Ridge of Half Dome this week - it’s an old school route that I’d never done before & I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It’s an incredible position up the side of Half Dome. Engaging climbing but never too crazy. 14 pitches up to 5.10d…

I’ve been working on various projects up at the Clear Light cave on and off since October but the season is finally winding down. It’s been an amazing resource to have this cave so close to home while Sanni was pregnant and during the first 2 months of fatherhood.

Some more Pine Creek photos from Drew Smith - he really captures the crag lifestyle well. Photos: a few shots of me climbing on Reggae and getting ready to belay Josh on the route next to it, Heavy Metal (which had to be among the coolest 12a’s that I’ve climbed).

This is the upper headwall of the west buttress of the Devils Thumb, the peak we climbed in Alaska this summer. It marked the culmination of a month & a half journey to get there; @tommycaldwell1 & I were both incredibly psyched to climb the last few pitches.

Eliza Earle took these insanely cute pics of our 2 year old and her new baby sister. So far the two year old is pretty indifferent, but I’m sure they’ll be best buds eventually.

The other day I did a fun little traverse of all the peaks around Calico Basin, which basically means over Kraft Mountain, the jagged limestone peak next to it, over to the Calico Hills summit above the Sandstone Quarry, and then back along the ridge above the pullouts…

James Lucas took some pictures of a typical sport climbing day from this month - I’ve been settled into home life for the season working on sport climbing projects and training indoors. Pretty lovely way to spend the winter.

We just got out from climbing in the Bugaboos - we climbed each of the Howser towers & generally had a good time sampling some fine alpine granite. One of the highlights was camping with Will Stanhope & Sonnie Trotter, two of Canada’s finest climbers & longtime friends…

First time I'd ever given up on a real, meaningful solo. Still slightly embarrassing, but all part of the process I guess.
