Per Fangraphs, Dick Allen is the 50th-most valuable offensive player in MLB history. Before today, he was the most valuable offensive non-HOFer with zero steroid allegations. Now, at long last, Dick Allen is in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Doc Cramer received 12 HOF votes in 1964, the most in MLB history for a player with a negative career Off and Def. If Salvador Perez gets 13+ HOF votes, he will pass Cramer, becoming the all-time leader in HOF votes for a player who was a net-negative at both offense and defense.

One-franchise icons Mike Trout and Salvador Perez both made their MLB debuts in 2011. Trout only leads Salvy by:. • 22 RBI (1.5 per year).• 43 hits (3 per year).• 7 2B (0.5 per year). Remember that Salvy missed an entire season for TJ surgery and is LITERALLY A CATCHER

Over the past two seasons, Ke’Bryan Hayes has averaged 5 HRs, 58 wRC+, and 0.7 fWAR per 162 games. If Hayes played every game in Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park, he would’ve averaged 8 HRs, 64 wRC+, and 1.2 fWAR per 162 games. Not great, but there’s value.

For his career, Ke’Bryan Hayes has averaged 11 HRs, 84 wRC+, and 3.1 fWAR per 162 games. If Hayes played every game in Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park, he would’ve averaged 17 HRs, 90 wRC+, and 3.4 fWAR per 162 games.

So here's the kicker with KeBryan Hayes' extension:. It's not an exorbitant deal by AAV, it's just extended out for a long time. 2025: $7MM.2026: $7MM.2027: $7MM.2028: $8MM.2029: $9MM.2030: Club $12MM. His glove may very well provide that value in WAR every season. 28 years old.

The only other major outlier is KC’s Kauffman Stadium, where Hayes would only have 22 HRs. Every other stadium is between 30 and 48 HRs. Moving to the Reds is the best scenario for Ke’Bryan Hayes by a wide margin.

In his MLB career, Ke’Bryan Hayes has hit 39 home runs. This matches his xHR, and 29/30 parks have relatively little variance with that. If Hayes played every game of his career in Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park, he would have 59 career HRs. The largest swing by far.

On the bright side, that list of 77 includes three HOF managers (Whitey Herzog/Sparky Anderson/Connie Mack) and two players that share their names with famous whiskey brands (Jack Daniels/Johnny Walker). If playing baseball doesn’t work out, Caglianone has two great fallbacks.

In AL/NL history, 77 rookies hitters have had -1.5 fWAR or worse. 64 retired with a career WAR below 0.Only 4 had at least one 3-WAR season.Only 1 surpassed 10.0 career WAR. Jac Caglianone currently has -1.3 WAR with 56 games left (though he did just get put on the 10-day IL).

Dick Allen slashed .292/.378/.534 for his career. If you lowered each by 30 points, the ONLY men to achieve .262/.348/.504 during Dick's era are all first-ballot Hall of Famers (Clemente was a special election). It's crazy that he wasn't in already.

Despite Yankee Stadium being his least-advantageous stadium in terms of xHR, Ryan McMahon would see no change in performance.

27 of the past 28 MVP-winners were either previously top-4 in MVP voting, former Rookie of the Year winners, or former Cy Young winners. If either Cal Raleigh or Pete Crow-Armstrong wins MVP, they’d join 2018 Christian Yelich as the only outlier MVPs since 2010.

This is a myth. In the Pitch Tracking Era (where there are no “velocity is measured much differently” shenanigans), the MLB-average velocity of a 4-seam fastball has increased by 2.5 MPH. Pitchers are throwing much harder now than they ever have

@DallasCroob @TheWARmonger_ @notgaetti That's what you have been force fed to believe because they know you know nothing about the facts of how hard previous gens threw and how they measure velo now adds 4-6 MPH to what it was is 80's 90's and hitters are worse because of their approaches and desires.
