Flu is hitting AK hard this year, with at least 3 flu-related deaths. COVID + RSV are also rising. If you haven't yet received the latest flu or covid shots, it's not too late! Every layer of protection matters. Mask up 😷 to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Flu, COVID-19, and RSV are all spreading in NYC this winter. Wearing a mask can help protect you and others from getting sick. Flu, COVID-19, and RSV can spread even if you do not have symptoms. More info: https://t.co/plx1iFaGTT

Wearing a mask is better than getting sick. Wearing a mask is better than becoming disabled. Wearing a mask is better than dying. Wearing a mask is better than being the reason someone else becomes sick, hospitalized or dies. Mask up & protect your health.

A new CDC study published in JAMA today, shows COVID is still killing a substantial number of Americans, with over 100K deaths annually between 2022-2024. ‘Although the Public Health Emergency ended, this study suggests it remains a major driver of mortality among older adults.’

Dear Jon Stewart, No one randomly owes you information about their health, their loved one’s health, or, understandably, just wanting to avoid Covid, which is the only way to prevent Long Covid.

“Risk factors for Long COVID include…occupation as a healthcare worker or teacher” Just published in Nature. Not lawyers, not bankers, not politicians - healthcare workers and teachers, the people society actually needs! Please get over your aversion to N95s. Please.

Please folks, do whatever you can to break chains of transmission, wear that mask, forgo that party, protect the soldier to your left, be the part of society you'd like society to be for you. Be good people, make good choices, CHOOSE to do the right thing.

Since it’s been decided to let measles return, you should know that of all the viruses transmitted via exhaled aerosol, measles is believed to be one of the most stable in the air. Along with masking, this makes ventilation and filtration incredibly important.

Remember, masks aren’t just for Covid! They also help protect against colds, flu, measles, RSV & more. They guard against pollution, wild fire smoke and pollen. A well fitted respirator can keep you healthy while also protecting those around you. It’s radical community care.

The thing about being #oneofthetwo you see masking *everywhere*, is it means there are a lot of us. Two on the bus, two at the grocery store—we add up to something people notice. Most important, we ripple. Every infection we prevent is an onward infection prevented. That matters.

Heres to all of the covid aware folks who refuse to partake in eugenics. Thank you for reading, reflecting, committing, and taking action to prevent the spread of covid. And heres to the millions of high risk people who have died because most people refuse to do the same.

Best thing you can do to avoid getting sick these next few weeks: wear a well fitting KN95 or n95 mask. If you work outside your home, either invest in air purifiers for your private office or eat in your car during lunch if most of your coworkers aren't 😷. You can avoid illness
