On August 13, 2025, ACFD crews responded to a working fire in the 2600 block of Castro Valley Blvd. Heavy black smoke was visible as firefighters arrived on the scene. The fire was located in the rear of the building. Crews contained the blaze to a single building.

On August 3, 2025, at 5:15 pm, the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) responded to a vegetation fire on the westbound I-580 at Eden Canyon Road in Castro Valley. The fire was started by a vehicle fire. ACFD’s response was able to stop forward progress on just under 19 acres.

💪Beat Cancer!💪. 🚒🔥The Alameda County Fire Department would like to say congratulations to Fire Captain Ryan Garcia. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August 2024, and after surgery, many treatments and 36 rounds of radiation therapy, he is now cancer free!

On July 21, 2025, the Alameda County Fire Department was proud to join the community at Redwood Chapel Community Center in Castro Valley for the 26th Annual Night of Honor Appreciation Event. This tradition brings first responders together to share a meal and celebrate service.

On Friday, July 18, 2025, the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD), in unified command with Cal Fire, on scene of an 18-wheeler that caught fire on WB 580 east of Flynn/Grantline Road. The fire spread to the vegetation. Forward progress has been stopped. WB lanes closed.

🧑🚒⚓️On July 15, 2025, Alameda County Fire Department’s (ACFD) Crew 8 was deployed by boat to reach their remote assignment on the fireline—at the Green Fire in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. 🔥🔥. So far, the fire has burned over 15,400 acres and is 13% contained.

The Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) will start updating the public on the new Alameda County Fire Department Training Center. It's located on Gleason Drive in Dublin. ACFD had a groundbreaking in April, 2025. Construction is underway right now.

🚒🔥On July 15, 2025, at 1:35 AM, the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) responded to multiple big rigs on fire on Doolittle Drive in San Leandro. 🧑🚒Crews quickly extinguished the fire in under 20 minutes, preventing it from spreading to other trucks or structures.
