I don't have a well informed opinion yet but seems worth paying attention to.
Claude code demonstrated the power of agentic search. It started a movement away from fuzzy code embeddings, vector databases and single-turn RAG.

Now that I have entered my 30s, I am amsued recalling how I used to look at 30 year olds as a 20-something wanting to take on the world. There's immense value in internalizing that respect has to be earned at every point in life and past accomplishments mean jack shit. 🫡.

This doesn't sound like a new default OpenAI model a la 4o but curious to try it out and hear more takes.
From trying gpt-5 for the last several hours now I will say:. I cant tell much of a difference between it and o3. It is an always reasoner as far as i can tell. Might feel like a bit bigger model, but smaller and not as good as 4.5 on tasks that arent benefitted by reasoning.

I have always been proud, mistakenly perhaps, of being a blunt person with high integrity and pain threshold. I now realize that's not the prototype for a successful persona in any team sport with varying incentives unless you are an outlier on the skill axis.
