We boost this resolution problem with RadarHD. We presented this research paper at IEEE ICRA 2023 last month. If you are looking at these application domains, we encourage you to adopt RadarHD in your pipelines for perception tasks.

mmWave radars are a good lidar/camera replacement for seeing in non line of sight conditions. For example: a fire fighting robot seeing through thick smoke, a car driving through thick fog. But their sensing resolution is fairly poor.

Our objective is to simplify the effort in obtaining high quality point clouds from mmWave radars so that system builders can use this sensor as a cheap lidar replacement for application level perception tasks like odometry, mapping and object classification.
