I understand that Christians might disagree on precisely how to apply the (HUNDREDS of) biblical directives to welcome immigrants & strangers. I don't understand how turning away refugees, deporting Dreamers, breaking up families, & sending people back to persecution are options.

It’s worth taking note of the young black activists over the past few years who have passed away in large part because of the work they were doing every day to combat systemic racism. People underestimate the physical & emotional toll it takes to convince the world you’re human.

Racism is a sin. Treating people like animals is a sin. Every single human being--including migrants and refugees--have dignity. #Arpaio

I hope we remember segregation, concentrated poverty, and lower life expectancy are also monuments to racism that must come down.
