Second-guessing why General Robert Lee ordered Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg has long been a pastime of Civil War historians. However, most modern authorities do not believe that the general’s strategic thinking during the battle was impaired by illness. Image of Lee: age 31, as

This isn’t just infrastructure flexing. For everyday investors, global mutual funds for Indian retail investors are already live, and Indian brokers are getting registered to offer direct access to international stocks - legally, from India.

Buildings use a district cooling system where water is reused multiple times - for cooling, landscaping, and even flushing. Waste management and surveillance are automated, with city-wide CCTV tracking vehicles, elevators, and access points.

Reality check: this is a private member bill, not backed by the government. Very few such bills become law. Governments fear strict labour laws may push companies away, risking jobs and investment.

This isn’t radical globally. Countries like France, Italy, Portugal, and Australia already have such laws. In India, penalties are proposed as a percentage of total employee remuneration, not individual salary - making it impactful for big companies.

Work doesn’t end when office hours do. Saying “no” often feels like career suicide - promotions, ratings, and goodwill feel at risk. That’s exactly why the idea of a Right to Disconnect matters.

Gold can prevent collapse, but it can’t fix long-term pressure. Until India becomes a strong net exporter, reduces dollar energy dependence, and scales high-value manufacturing and services, the rupee may look stable but won’t be truly strong. What’s your take on the

India also runs a large trade deficit. We import far more than we export - and imports are paid in dollars. Growth itself needs more energy, raw materials, and fuel - all dollar-priced.

Countries like India had no option but to earn, save, and spend in USD. Today, whenever there’s war, global uncertainty, or foreign investors pull out, India’s dollar reserves fall - and the rupee weakens.

After World War II, Europe was financially broken. The US emerged with functioning factories, strong production, and huge gold reserves. In 1944, the US offered a deal: trade in dollars, because every dollar was backed by gold. Holding dollars meant indirectly holding gold -
