My thoughts on KMP after trying it out is that it’s not the right tool for the job. Can it work? Yes. It even feels like the best multiplatform thing we’ve seen. But there are problems and they’re not easy to solve. Using Swift/XCode for now until KMP matures a bit more.

I'll add one more example that I'm more intimately familiar with: Calm. The reason these apps are so successful boils down to celebrity power. Yes meditation has always been an in-deman niche, but the reason Calm makes such big $$$ is celebrity power. Matthew McConaughey helps

The reason I use spotify: my friends use spotify and share spotify links. Design doesn't carry weight when a user is making a decision. The thing that makes an app successful is never obvious / apparent. For spotify, their social network is one of their moats.

I'm personally offended. I generally despise M*sk and everything he's done to Twitter, but this is just ridiculous. The new Twitter home icon that @avstorm and @srioz designed was nothing short of perfect. This one is a hideous insult to design. Not even symmetrical.

I can now appreciate the value of the advice: Assume you've already built the product. Now go out and get customers for it. I think if you'll realise that product is not needed for marketing. Do you need a good working demo? Likely. Do you need actual product? I don't think

99% of my high-value skills are self-taught. but I dont regret getting my degree. Graduating from university in Canada granted me a work permit that unlocked a much higher grade of opportunities. It's the best thing I ever paid for.
