Controversial opinion but I think it’s ok for neighborhoods to change over time.
Wandsworth’s Planning Applications Committee tonight rejected the proposal for a 28-story tower block by Battersea Bridge. The committee listened to the views of local residents & agreed that the Glassmills proposal was incompatible with the existing heritage and landscape 👍

A lot of the people who built their brands on defending "free speech" are reminding us over & over that they never meant it. The entire point of the First Amendment is that it protects unpopular speech, not just stuff you vibe with. Principles are anathema to these folks.
US District Judge Lee Rosenthal just ruled that Texas A&M must allow a drag show to take place. Judges are now forcing queer theory and s*xually explicit shows to take place at Universities.

1. Build lots 2. Build more 3. Build so much that landlords compete for tenants 4. Build even more to lock in the advantage for generations 5. Erode wealth inequality in the UK *market YIMBYism should be a left wing position*
British policymakers could have landlords falling over themselves to lower people’s rents, but instead they engage in populism

Poland was really lucky that no one assisted it or sent it armaments in 1939 so that the war ended quickly and people stopped dying unnecessarily.

Bizarre take from Bernie
It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.

I have a confession and a plea to folks who are flirting with voting Jill Stein. When I was a 20 year old college student in 2000, I voted for Ralph Nader instead of Al Gore. I loved the progressive message Nader offered, and Bush and Gore seemed kinda the same to someone who

Respect to Jeremy Hunt, who held his seat (just) but is out as Chancellor: this is a decent speech

Today is a wonderful day to thank everyone who, back in 2016, said Hillary was no different than Trump.

I have to say that I am struggling with this notion of a super-majority. I was brought up to believe that a 52:48 ratio gives the winning side free rein.

Just a reminder that 14 yrs ago there were no waiting lists over 18-weeks, no 12-hour A&E waits, no waiting an hour for an urgent ambulance, over 90% of cancer patients started treated within two months, everyone could see their GP within 2-days,… Then we got the Tories

Unpopular opinion but Joe Biden is literally everything Americans say they want in a president: highly empathetic, skilled at getting shit done, seeks bipartisanship where possible, stays out of headlines, not corrupt, willing to change his mind on issues with the electorate
