Prepping canola ground tonight on a freshly manured field. Seeing lots of these pesky little flies which I always attribute to being seed corn maggot. Any management recs for planting canola in a few weeks?

First time all year I’ve seen this foreign substance sticking to my boots. Highly variable rain again but very happy to get it. 1/2”-1.25” looks like it catches this neighbourhood.

Proud dad moment today, first time Wes shot a .22 and nailed all 3 targets in a row without missing (small target got hit on the bottom edge). He also enjoyed his new 20 gauge!

At least the dry weather is good for something, larger catchment ponds are finished and should work a lot better than those orange risers. This one is tied to an 8” outlet, should hopefully provide enough capacity for a quick couple of inches coming upstream.
