Poverty of ambition. I went to a perfectly ordinary comprehensive and we wore blazers. They werenโt overly expensive and options to buy a cheap one and sew on the school badge existed.
You donโt need a posh blazer to learn your times tables, and Shakespeare is just as inspiring in a supermarket sweater. Ahead of the school term I'm calling on schools to bring uniform costs down now, rather than wait for Labour's new laws to take action.

I know people like to rag on AI tools, but Chat GPT is legitimately amazing for soups. I tell it the base ingredients Iโm using, have a few back and forths as we work out what ingredients I have, and three times in a row have come out with some great soups.

Gen Z parents don't read to their kids anymore because "it's so boring.". Just 41% of parents now read to their kids, down from 64% in 2012. Not only is this creating a future generation of illiterates, but will eventually collapse the market for books and bookstores.

Of course, if this did happen the wealthy would still be able to estate plan the problem away. It would be poorer people, with a few thousand in savings who would actually pay.
What a ridiculous statement. Inheritance tax is immoral. A government punishment and theft on those who built a successful life and legacy (and paid a lifetime of other taxes). A spiteful government punishment tax on families and the bereaved.
