I had the opposite of this with The Burbs. Remembered it as an extremely scary and macabre horror film from my childhood, was surprised that it was actually a goofy comedy featuring a young tom hanks.
I watched this movie for the first time recently and went in 100 percent expecting a hilarious boisterous rude fun romp. kind of shocking how mid and mean spirited it turned out to be.

I have lived in the UK nearly all my life and have never met someone who had the union jack and st George's cross hanging in their front room .And I had a mate in school who's dad was a paratrooper.

Someone's put up union jack flags on the flyover near my house but not bothered to secure them properly so they're all hanging on by one or two corners, looking shit and will end up littering the countryside. Pretty apt metaphor for the whole situation.

A lot of pro-natalist discourse on here boils down to "have a child to fill the empty void in you" or "have loads of kids to make a statement about your politics/values" and those are both incredibly bad and selfish reasons to have kids???.
