That was far wetter than I was expecting! Finished a touch past 1hr 51m; target was 1hr 53 so I’m pleased with that and the 13 minute improvement from 2019. Mad how many turned out to support considering the rain. Glad to finally make it round having got my place in Jan 2022!

All good things come to an end. I’m incredibly grateful for the 9 years I’ve had with this wonderful team. My geeky dream was to conduct a band at an area contest, I ended up doing 8, winning 2 and qualifying for 3 nationals. Hopefully I’ll add to that again when the time’s right

Nice end to the first week of the holiday finding out I’ve passed the NPQSL course started way back in September 2022. Definitely the toughest assessment experience I’ve ever gone through. Delighted (but mainly relieved!)

Another cracking summer concert at @Springwell_Lds yesterday. The kids absolutely outdid themselves and had some fantastic support from a very healthy audience! No rest for the wicked… 4.30am start today to lead the band and represent Seaham Lodge at the Durham miners gala!

Last week we ran our Whit Friday scratch band with 48 people joining us to visit 6 contests on the circuit, playing ‘Livin’ on a prayer’ as our road march to fit our 80s theme. We met our target to avoid coming last anywhere and won ‘most entertaining band’ at Greenfield!

Hugely proud to be taking @HuddsBrass into the 2nd section this weekend following a second promotion in half a dozen years. Some excellent bands lining up with us including a few that were locking horns with the likes of Black Dyke, Grimethorpe and Brighouse not too long ago.
Count down to Huddersfield: The pride of Yorkshire banding will battle it out for the domestic bragging rights in Huddersfield this weekend and those all important qualification places to London and Cheltenham.

14 players rocked up on Xmas Eve to play carols for @MartinHouseCH They raised £343.25 so £1000 will be donated from our 4 events. Special thanks to @reliance760 for leading the 2nd spot. 31 different players put parts in at at least one event. Thank you to every one of them!
