What a fantastic GP to go into the summer breakā¦. Incredibly high quality driving from both McLaren drivers. Fair play to @LandoNorris for making the 1 stop strategy work. Itās hard to explain just how difficult it is for a racing driver to go against their instinct and go.

I was the same, I probably didnāt expect us to do much.
āPiastri is doing a 21.0, Norris doing a 21.4 I donāt think itās working at all well for Lando Norris in terms of gaining him any track positions. George Russell is fastest man of anybody in 1st sector so Norris is gonna end up distinct 4thā. They even counted him off podiumš

Man had 14 laps fresher tyres than lando. If he didnāt catch up, probably would have been a concern.
oscar finishing less than .7 seconds behind l*ndo when he had to do a whole fucking second pit stop shows just how good he is. this is 100% on mclaren strategy, not him.

So the team and lando didnāt think the 1 stop was going to work. Fair.
āproblem was charles was disappearing, oscar was disappearing and already i was out of the race compared to them from a 2 stop. the only option to put myself back in the race was by trying a 1 stopā¦ i didnāt think it was gonna work. but we made it work so the risk paid off!ā š
