Region 2 is delighted to announce our new Executive Principal, Dr. Amielia Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell serves as principal of Stone MS in FCPS and will join our region leadership team on Oct 1. We are so happy to have her skills and experience added to our region!

Technology is failing and you need a contingency plan? Read, journal, call your friends, listen to music, go outside, build a pillow fort, cook, make art, make noise, take a nap...Most importantly, remember its a pandemic and lead with empathy. Students and teachers are humans.

10AM UPDATE: 131,000 active Collaborate users in 7,900 sessions. No outages or slowdowns reported. Peak usage, thus far, is 140,000 users. Numbers will fluctuate as students take breaks between classes. As of 9:45am, there were 29,060 Google Meet participants in 1713 sessions.

Any friends near Vienna, WV that use a dexcom?? My son is visiting my family and his last sensor just failed! I can mail you a replacement if you can get a new sensor to him tomorrow?! Help!

One of the greats!!!
This is Mr. McElveen, my dad and hero. He began teaching in 1960. Now, at 81-years-old, he has cleaned out his classroom for the last time after teaching English/Journalism to 8,000 students. COVID canceled his retirement party, so let’s show him love here!

Our synchronous learning has had some notable setbacks, but I’m amazed at the grit, determination, and perseverance by leadership and teachers @FlorisSchool, not to mention #FCPSsbts. High quality learning has been consistent throughout, and our community is stronger than ever!
