Sonepur'e Bomkai is an identified GI sites. The weavers are now experimenting with combination of Ikat and Bomkai. Ikat is called Tying-dying here based on the way it is woven. The green saree is national award winning one with the theme Triphala.

This layered farm at Rugudipali owned by Mr Suresh Puajahari is one of the largest in Subarnapur..he received govt subsidy of around 60lakhs. Daily production is 47,000 eggs. He will soon set up a hatchery. We need more such entrepreneurs in the district.
