Life Update:
Today I signed on as a part time fill-in meteorologist for KTUU/KYES here in Anchorage.
Still happy to bring you all of the crazy weather that Anchorage has to offer.
Here's a snow-mg fact
Nearly 50% of the average annual snowfall for Anchorage has fallen within the last 7 days in Anchorage.
More snow Tuesday night into Wednesday, will likely boost us to the snowiest November on record.

I’m happy to announce that I have officially signed a contract for a more permanent position at
@AKNewsNow
Not going to reveal the details just yet, but I’ll be back on air by the end of the month.
In the meantime I’ll still be filling in until my contract kicks in.

Clearly Tiger winning is significantly more important to you than lifesaving information to those who need it most. You can always watch the replay, people who died this weekend won't get another chance at a "replay"
If weather models were people:
06z - The Overachiever
12z - The person always at work an hour before and gets everything done.
18z - That guy who never comes back from lunch.
00z - The person responsible for fixing 18z’s mistakes
If you're the praying kind, please keep my sister and her boyfriend's family in your prayers, as he was tragically killed this morning in strong storms in the south (thread)
WATCH: A timelapse of the shortest day of the year in Anchorage, where we saw only 5 hours and 27 minutes of daylight. Starting tomorrow we begin the journey into more light.

Life Update:
I’ve always wondered when I would end my TV career. After several prayers and leaving it to the man upstairs, I felt confident in signing a new contract through Nov. 2025.
Here’s to the next 4 years as your morning meteorologist.
Today and tomorrow are the last broadcasts for KTVA and for me. While I will be exiting the broadcast industry, I will still set my sights on weather.
The journey has been amazing, but now it's time to focus more on family and friends, of which I've sacrificed through the years
Flight attendant: Is there a doctor on this flight?
Dad: *nudging me* that should've been you
Me: Not now Dad
Dad: Not asking for a meteorologist to help, are they?
Me: Dad, there's a medical emergency happening.
Dad: Go and see what the worst model predicts to help
🐈 is out of the 💼!
I’m moving to the morning show and get to wake up with Alaska!
Looking forward to those 1AM alarms, coffee, sunrises and more memories.
Today marks my 7 year workiversary.
7 years of getting to do what I love day in and day out, even if I have a slightly unconventional work schedule.
Mississippi ✈️ Missouri ✈️ Alaska
2 years ago I moved to Alaska sight unseen and never looked back.
This place has become home and will be for hopefully forever. Here’s one of my first photos as I was flying into the state!
So much going on in one picture, but absolutely stunning optical shot.

So happy to see you being able to fully live your life. That collective exhale you feel is the weight of everything being released. You have a world of support in your corner. 💛

With all due respect each TV market is different. More and more weather segments are geared towards the science behind why we're seeing a certain weather pattern. Weather has and always will be something that affects your day to day life that you can't get from an app.
Bittersweet News:
After 3 years my time at ABC 17 is coming to an end. I couldn’t ask for a better station or team to work for.
Since this is Twitter I’ll keep it short. This month is my last and I start my new journey in Alaska in February.
Last day on air is Feb. 1
Welcome to Alaska, where hurricane force winds warmed Southcentral into the 40s and bitter cold remains to our north.
A 100 degree temperature spread across the state today.
My station has been purchased by Gray TV.
What this means for me is yet to be determined, but I’m placing trust in the process and my faith in God to guide me through this stressful time.
Boiling water vs. Extreme Cold (-42°)
- Arctic air is very dry
- Boiling water is closer to evaporation than cold water.
- Thrown water breaks into smaller droplets which condensates into a cloud
- If it's cold enough (around -40ish), the water can exist in all 3 phases.
The same person who wrote this says
- Meteorology education is ill suited for the world of work
- 2" hail isn't dangerous
- Svr T-storm Warnings shouldn't be issued for winds less than 70 mph
- Has a hot take for everything
